Ghost – Popestar

Do you have any favorites that are hard to explain to your friends?  How many times have you struggled to answer this question: You like (insert artist here)?  What do they sound like?

I freaking love Ghost, but I struggle with that question any time I bring them up to my friends, coworkers, or acquaintances.  I usually just send them YouTube links and tell them to listen.

Popestar sounds like nothing else in music right now.  Here is the recipe I imagine that Ghost followed while making this EP:
1 part 80s Metal à la Iron Maiden and Dio

2 parts Church pipe organ

Splash of Holy Water

Pinch of British New Wave

Dash of Satan

By far my favorite track on Popestar is the cover of Missionary Man by the Eurythmics.
