Elvis – C’mon Everybody

How many albums have you bought that, if you are being honest with yourself, you don’t really need?  I am sure there are more than a few in your collection that you purchased because the album just happened to be there.  This is one of those purchases for me.

I love Elvis.  He is the most important person in the history of music.  I did not really need another Elvis album, but it was half-price day at the estate sale I was at.  You know how it is…..

My favorite Elvis era is the early Vegas era  of the late 60s and early 70s followed closely by the early Sun recordings of the 50s.  My least favorite era of Elvis music is the movie soundtrack era.  There are a few exceptions, but most of the music during that time lacked soul.

With that being said, here’s a compilation album of Elvis’ movie soundtrack songs.  C’mon Everybody is material from four of his films and it was clearly put together as a cash grab.

The music on C’mon Everybody is solid and fun.  They are short sing-a-long songs that embody the carefree nature of Elvis’ films.  You are not going to find anything with deep meaning or feeling here.

This is the type of record you put on the turntable when your mom or grandmother comes over for tea.

C’mon Everybody will never be listed as someone’s most favorite Elvis album, but if you like the sound of 60s movie Elvis this record is worth having.

My favorite track: I’ll Take Love
